To Bleed For Ones Family
“His name was Tim.” Dick said. “And when he was your age, he looked just like you. You know, my buddy Tim was teaching himself ASL because sometimes he found it hard to talk. Is he the one who taught you to use it?”
There was no reaction at all this time, the boy once again completely silent. Even his breaths were unnaturally quiet, as if he had been trained not to ever make a sound.
“I haven’t seen Tim for a long time.” Dick said. “Years, to be honest. I saw him at Gala’s mostly, and I remember we hid beneath the punch table, gorging ourselves on sweets. Do you like candy, Bud?”
Dick wasn’t sure if the kid had ever had candy in his whole life, his muscles were nearly non existent and he weighed enough to be blown away from the wind. Given how his arm was still bleeding, Dick was honestly getting a little worried that his body wouldn’t be able to tolerate it for much longer.---After being missing for seven years, Tim Drake is found to have been held captive within his own house the entire time. Dick convinces Bruce to take him in, remembering the child that he had once seen at banquets, the child who had become his friend, the friend who now needs love and support to heal and feel safe.
