When you love someone, and your skin brushes against theirs, colours bloom on their hands. Damian's hands are utterly, completely, blank. And that breaks Dick's heart. (Can be read as a standalone)

“You deserve only the best, Habibi,” Talia had told him. “You are a Prince. You deserve a mate who would give you the world if you asked.” Damian ignored all of the wandering eyes who wished just for a glimpse of his attention. He didn't want them. He wanted Tim. He wanted the smart, charismatic and admired alpha to be his. The teen wasn’t blind. He knew he wasn’t the only unbonded omega in Gotham who was set on Tim. He was even sure some people in the superhero community were attracted to Red Robin as well. It grated on his nerves, because none of them were befitting. Damian was an omega of outstanding talent and breed—his parents were physically attractive, powerful and strong–willed. He’d inherited the best genes of both. He’d lived with Tim, seen him at his worst and best, learned what made him happy and what made him tick, knew the way his thoughts worked. Who would ever dare to compete with Damian?

He’s not back with grandfather at the league of assassins. He’s not training with brutal, inhumane tactics that leave him battered and bruised, questioning his worth every moment. His limbs don’t ache and he can’t taste blood in his mouth. He’s not fighting to the death. He’s safe. He takes in another deep breath and wipes at his face with the back of his long sleeve pyjama shirt, feeling the dampness from his eyes. The bright blue colour and soft material is another ridiculous, yet comforting reminder he is safe. Back at the league they wore itchy shirts and trousers to sleep. Practical incase of an emergency, but not comforting in the slightest. At home, Bruce - and mainly Dick, subject him to bright, colourful and incredibly gentle children's pyjamas with inane prints and matching designs. -/-/- Or the one where Damian wakes up from a nightmare, and is coerced by Jason Todd of all people to seek comfort from Bruce.
