Shen Yuan, the biggest anti-fan of this year's most popular stallion novel, Proud Immortal Demon Way! The novel that Shen Yuan would happily curse until his last breath for being cliche, having an ungodly amount of horny fan service that didn't pertain to any plot, not that there truly was a plot, to begin with in this trash novel! Having the legitimacy of a grade school essay, far too many unfinished backstories, and a ridiculous amount of subplots that's only purpose was to serve as sixty chapters of papapa to an overpowered protagonist whose harem reached triple digits! And when he says that he would happily curse it until his last breath, he means it. "A-Yuan, what are you doing sleeping right now?" Wait, where is he? "Why are you ignoring your Gege? Answer me!" Who’s his Gege!?! Shen Yuan realizes that the plot holes in PIDW really are going to be the actual death of him, but all he has to do is survive in this new world and keep his Gege and Qi-ge safe and happy with him! But most importantly, stay as far away from the scum villain and Luo Binghe as possible! Which turns out to be his biggest struggle of all!

Shen Yuan transmigrates during the previous generation of Cang Qiong, and despite being totally mediocre (or so he thinks) he ends up becoming the Head Disciple of Qing Jing Peak. Ming Fan came and bullied him? Snatching off his mother's jade? His Shizun came and the jade was back in Luo Binghe's hand. A demon invasion when no strong people home? His Shizun returned and stopped them. Pretty sure Shizun pushed him into the abyss for his own sake too. That's right. Luo Binghe didn't have any shred of doubt towards his mysterious and wise Shizun.

Initially, Shen Yuan’s plan had been to get into Qing Jing Peak. But on second thought, he’d realized that being a disciple at the same peak as the future vengeful protagonist might put him in his warpath, even if he didn’t participate in any bullying or anything (which to be clear, he was in no way planning to do), since he wasn’t a pretty girl that Luo Binghe would bestow his mercy on and take into his harem. So, in the end, he settled for becoming a background character – aka, becoming an An Ding Peak disciple. And to be clear, just not becoming a cultivator in this particular sect was absolutely not an option. There was no way in hell that Shen Yuan was going to miss out on his chance to witness the Luo Binghe in action. Or, Shen Yuan, transmigrated into the body of a poor orphan somewhere in the world of Proud Immortal Demon Way, becomes an An Ding Peak disciple so that he can stay in range of his favorite character, the main character, Luo Binghe. As long as he keeps interaction with Luo Binghe to a minimum and gets the hell out of dodge before the razing of Cang Qiong, he'll be perfectly fine, right? So then why the hell does he keep getting dragged into the plot?!

Shen Qingqiu is a man who hides his twin brother from the world with the ferocity of a phoenix-eyed mother crane. Shen Yuan is a helpless transmigrator who wishes Airplane-bro had given even a single bit of backstory for this side character he's inhabiting! Luo Binghe isn't doomed to face the Endless Abyss, but he is forced to confront something infinitely more frustrating: an overly protective brother.

There’s a baby in Shen Qingqiu’s empty robes, occupying the space that Shen Qingqiu stated with great conviction was the most comfortable spot on this gigantic fucking bed, Binghe, move, and it looks as if it’s about to cry. It pauses its fussing to blink at him, huge, dark, impossibly familiar eyes framed by long wet lashes peeping up at him from a tiny round face. It observes him, shocked, in the same split second that it takes Luo Binghe to realize what exactly it is, then it scrunches its button nose, squeezes its eyes shut, and lets loose the loudest wail Luo Binghe has ever heard in his entire cursed life. Luo Binghe will never admit that while the child screamed bloody murder, his first reaction was to flinch away so violently that he ended up with his back to the unforgiving stone floor. Why are you crying, I’m the one who wants to cry! ***Shen Qingqiu is forced into a special event, while his unfortunate husband has to take care of an admittedly adorable and very smart child in his... absence.

In Shang Qinghua’s defense, this whole trope was originally something he’d only ever written in for Sha Hualing, for precisely one scene.
