Taking a shuddering breath, Tony shuts off the alarm, puts the phone away to stall for another moment or two, and then finally gets up, and reaches for what he has—very aptly, in his humble opinion—named The Stick of Destiny lying on the edge of the sink. It was a simple school field trip to Stark Industries Tower (also known as the home of the Avengers, not to be confused with the workplace of the Avengers, that’s different). Sure it’s to what is basically Peter’s second home but in Manhattan, but still. It should be fine. I mean, how much trouble can a field trip really cause? It’s incredible, the butterfly effect. For example, a school trip to SI. Nothing note, you would say, that happens a lot. Oh, but this trip is the butterfly that triggers all the events of this tale. Watch, as a lowly field trip creates the baseline for events that prove the lovely line of “blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb”, also known as “family isn’t always blood”. And for that family, blood will be shed. Soap makes a choked off noise of pure, unadulterated panic, and then he’s floating, drifting far away as his ears ring from the sound of multiple bombs going off. When he comes to, he only gets to be happy that he’s somehow still alive for a moment, because everything hits him all at once. Pain explodes from every single part of him he can feel, and he wants to scream. He doesn’t, instead trying to take a deep breath to ground himself, but there’s rubble on top of him that’s unyielding, restricting his every breath. His breath catches in his throat; focus, MacTavish. Assess your situation before you start panicking. or, Soap gets trapped under the rubble of a collapsed building, and makes the (stupid) executive decision to omit that piece of information to the rest of 141. No one is happy about this when they find out.

After recent events in New York, Seven-Four-Alpha are set to return back to London. They've captured their primary target, but by no means settled their case. They've still got rogue Dementors at Azkaban, prying investigators from Luxembourg, and a far larger Death Eater threat to manage, not to mention pressure from their own higher ups. Draco is reeling from his loss, and Harry is trying to be the best boyfriend he can, which may mean not being Draco's guv any longer. Harry's uncertain what his team'll find as they press deeper in the investigation, but he knows they will all be tested, perhaps more than they can bear. But they haven't a choice, have they? It's the bloody Death Eaters, after all, and the political integrity of Wizarding Britain and their magical allies hangs in the balance.

It should have been just another investigation for Tim, but now his family wants to kill him. It should be just another night for Jason, but somehow, he got a broken bird and he might want more.
