The War is Far From Over Now
The War is Far From Over Now
The world keeps pushing him, demanding, because what he did wasn't enough. Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, but that wasn't enough, wasn't ever enough. Tony Stark was tired. But he had a planet to protect, even if everyone laughed at him whenever the prospect of alien invasions was brought up. He could count on one hand how many people he could trust, which was disheartening but then, what else was new? Or, In which Tony does not, in fact, intend to take over the world. ...unfortunately, everyone else missed that particular memo. [gradual divergence from canon, starting at the end of Iron Man 3. In which it's Tony's self-awareness, rather than his support system, that becomes a cryptid sometime during Phase II.]

Year One: Codependence Regulus felt very young as he looked up at his big brother. “Why did you do it?” “I was protecting you,” Sirius answered simply. “You can’t protect me from everything.” “We’ll see about that.” Or: Coming from a family like theirs, maybe it wasn’t such a surprise that Regulus and Sirius were a little bit codependent. But entering Hogwarts will push Regulus to navigate for himself a world of new friends, a society beyond that of his parents’, and dreams of a strange lake with a glowing green light that calls to him.

Jisung is kissing him before Minho even has a chance to stand up. Hot, desperate lips, fingers slipping under the hem of Minho’s shirt without hesitation. Minho arches into him, bows his head back, allowing Jisung’s lips to travel. Maybe he’ll do it now. Bite Minho. Drink from him. Minho’s legs will go weak and his knees will give and he’ll cease feeling like he’s too heavy for his own bones. “I’m not biting you in the middle of my dining room, sweetheart,” Jisung drags his teeth across Minho’s throat, teasing. (OR: Jisung is a vampire; Minho indulges.)

Kakashi never believed in mates, how his father explained to him before he killed himself. He never believed a word that man had said. Until he saw her. Untill he met her. The cute little girl reading a book that was far beyond his understanding. He belonged to her. He'll protect her when she wasn't able to protect herself. She was his home. Not Konoha. This village could burn to the ground for all he cared. Because of the actions of the Third, he'd might start that fire, and laugh like a lunatic while doing so. But instead, he left. ~🤍~ This is an alternative take on 'Mine' that more or less answers the question: what if Kakashi was a little bit more unhinged, and accepted his mate from the get-go? You don't have to read 'Mine' to read this, but I will be posting this far more sporadic than 'Mine.' If 'Mine' was once a week, this is once a month. Also, this WILL spoil 'Mine,' so read at your own risk.
