When Loki invaded Midgard he did not expect to meet another god.

After a foolish night of drunkenness, the young King Thor is on a search for a new queen, this time a commoner that the people of Asgard can rise behind and love as one of their own. All Aesir youth who are of age and pass the initial tests of beauty, virginity, and fertility are to be housed in the king’s harem where they will be groomed and trained for potential queenship. After one year’s time, the king will then spend a single night with each of the chosen youth in order to choose his queen. The strangest youth in competition for the crown? A lying, thieving, mysterious trickster known only by the name of Loki. Little does the House of Odin know that Loki is neither Aesir nor a commoner.

Guilt bubbled up in his belly, not for the first time since he decided he needed to find a way to get out of Jotunheim permanently, but it was worse now that his plans seemed to be falling into place. After the trauma of being married to a sadistic bastard, Loki struggles to rebuild his life and be who he was before. Thor struggles to be what Loki needs. Odin struggles not to lose both his children forever. Lord Fallconyr struggles with a particularly tight jar lid.

Loki, the third prince of Jotunheim, finds himself having to reluctantly escort the crown prince of Asgard and his companions around the palace of Utgard during the first visit to Jotunheim by Asgardians in a generation. Thor initially proves less arrogant and oafish than Loki had expected, but then apparently reveals his true nature with a demeaning order that Loki serve him in bed. Loki feels that he has no choice but to comply with a smile on his face, as to displease Thor could mean that the Casket of Winters would continue to be held hostage in far-away Asgard. Loki is just as desperate to have it returned as his father, Laufey-king, is, even if their reasons for wanting it returned are different. Loki will acquiesce to being Thor's bedwarmer and anything else that is required of him as long as it means keeping the favour of the spoiled enemy prince. And he has to admit to himself that he's not entirely opposed to being bedded by the golden-haired foreigner. However, the outcome is not what he would have wished for, and his problems with the prince of Asgard are just beginning.

Loki has always felt a little different on Asgard, cast out from his brother and his friends. Laufey notes how Loki turns blue when touched during an attack in Jotunheim.A plan builds in his head, and when he breeds Loki, he decides to keep his newest spoil of war for his personal pleasure and revenge against Asgard.

In which Irish myths and legends turn out to be just as true as the Norse ones. Meaning Loki's not the only one with legendary powers. Even if the girl doesn't know it yet.
