All the rest of Nami’s nakama have a similar expression on their faces, something between stupefied and offended—save Robin, who presses a secret smile behind her hand, and Jimbei, whose rumbling chuckle is just barely audible over the sound of the sea. “The call of the void” is a french phrase used to refer to intellectual thoughts, or the urge to engage in destructive behaviors during everyday life. Examples include thinking about swerving into the opposite lane while driving, or feeling the urge to jump off a cliff edge while standing on it. It's also known as Luffy's constant state of being. I was just trying to survive on the hell that was the GrandLine. As a kid, pretending to be a boy was just the easiest decision. But when you save a princess, it kind of opens up your options. Being a Pirate's not so bad now, it's even better when other pirates are still terrified from my bounty hunting days.

“I don’t buy it,” Pete retorts. “Someone like you? Some cook from East Blue? He’s still upright, somehow, through sheer stubbornness or spite. He doesn’t look like someone who only has tonight left to live. In fact, he looks sharp. There’s no better word for it. His expression is still as peaceable as it has been since he arrived, but watching him is like watching a knife slide out of its sheath. He is, abruptly, dangerous. A tool made for cutting. “If you knew where I’ve been, you would be terrified of me,” he says.

“You spoke, didn’t you?” he asks, convinced that he had heard somebody calling him into consciousness. The sword says nothing, but Luffy gets the impression that it wants to say more – if it could, or if he could hear it, and he frowns, turning back to the front door. “How did Luffy get someone like you to join the crew?” “He blackmailed me.” Nami’s expression morphs into something that Zoro can’t quite describe and it takes all of his willpower not to laugh and how perplexed she seems. “Luffy blackmailed……you.” “With my swords at a marine base." Lucy and Roronoa Zoro are still only halfway to their dreams, but at least they have each other. The New World is hard and dangerous, but like all great things, it's wonderful too. They're the Pirate King and the World's Greatest Swordsman, after all. The rest of the world just hasn't quite caught on yet. In which things are still very much do or die, and love is exactly the same.

"Don't be stupid." Zoro rolled his eyes, setting his katana down. "I'd never leave you.""But, I want you to." Vivi sat down beside him, blue eyes shining with tears. "You want so much more than this. I know you do. I saw it in your eyes when we were on Merry. You were meant to be an adventurer, Zoro. You were meant to be free." or After a twisted turn of events, Zoro starts out as Vivi's swordsman and ends up as Luffy's.

"You're not real," their baby brother insists adamantly for the fifth time, and Ace and Sabo share a look of actual distress; because Luffy is staring at them blankly, as if they should know very well they don't exist.

“You’re lucky, Zoro,” she had spat, eyes turned up towards the sky, like she was trying to hold in tears. He'd never seen Kuina cry before. He’d never seen any expression on her face other than her teeth gritted in determination or her grinning in victory. “I want to be the greatest swordsman too. But girls grow up, and their bodies become weaker than men's. I’m never going to be the greatest.” Kuina tells him this, and Zoro can barely comprehend the words she’s saying. He thinks of the countless hours he’s spent training by the river bed, the green locks of his hair left on the floor after Koushirou helped him shear it all off, of the people he thought of as family a lifetime ago calling him by a name he despised. Zoro puts a hand to his chest, where he’d hastily wrapped bandages earlier that day, remembering how his body had begun changing and he didn’t understand why- “You’re lucky to have been born a man, Zoro,” Kuina finishes lamely. Zoro sees red.

A blood stained hand wraps around her arm, stopping her in her tracks. The scene continues to play out in the archway but Vivi finds her gaze pulled to Zoro. Blood trickles freely down the side of his face and fire finally returns to his eyes. Her heart leaps. Zoro is back. Her lips twitch up as Zoro links their hands together, grip tight and determined.“Together.” The word slurs from his blood stained lips.Vivi nods, squeezing his hand, and steps forward. Together. They’ll fix this. They’ll save their nakama. Or After the Strawhats are massacred, an unlikely duo travel back to save their nakama and change the course of destiny.

As the Strawhat crew comes to find, their newest member, Sanji, flirts with anyone that breathes and walks on two legs... with the notable exception of Zoro, which the rest of the crew finds hilarious. The impossible thing, though; his flirting actually works. In which Sanji has game and really sluts up the place and Zoro is Not Amused.

One day, Ace awakens to find that he is in the body of a blond stranger in suspiciously familiar clothes. The body's owner quickly contacts with the place where he is, the base of the Revolutionary Army. It turns out that a certain Sabo has awakened in the body of the troublesome rookie with a bounty of three hundred million. So, if Ace is in Sabo's body and Sabo is in Luffy's body, Luffy is... Oh, crap.

Roronoa Zoro knows he’s loyal to a fault. And maybe that loyalty is only for his Captain and Crew. But realizing his loyalty for Luffy is also something more, something more personal and emotional, was not what Zoro wanted. And he definitely didn’t want the voices in his head to get so loud.But hey, we never get what we want, do we? In which Zoro figures out he’s in love with his captain and is in great denial, all while struggling through emotional repression and a bunch of shit he doesn’t deserve. Go figures. The Pirates Era has ships sailing all over the world to chase and find the One Piece, as well as to become Pirate King. All thanks to the infamous pirate Gol D. Roger who spoke those words at his execution. That's every pirates dream. Except for one loud mouth, prideful, and stubborn swordswoman who has a habit to make everybody's eyes wander over to her in either morbid curiosity or awe. Oh! It's you! In a world where everyone has a mark to identify their soulmate, Luffy is born without one. But that’s okay, because the future Pirate King doesn’t have time for boring mushy romance. His nakama, however, are another story.

Brook knew they weren't the only ones watching over their captain. Far from it. An early morning encounter leads him to renew an old promise to their captain's brother.

Brook has a short yet meaningful talk with the spirit of a young girl residing within Wado Ichimonji, and comes to understand their green-haired swordsman just a little bit more.
