When he opens his eyes again, he finds himself in his old bed in his old home in his old body. Is this death? Or a trick of magic? Either way, Bilbo recognizes a second chance when he sees one, and this time his adventure with Thorin is going to go a bit differently.

Thorin dies. Thorin wakes up. He is understandably confused by this, especially since he appears to be in the Erebor he knew as a young dwarf, about to be attacked by a dragon. A time-travel fic with Thorin as the one living his life twice.

When Thorin is injured in the Battle of the Five Armies, Bilbo surprises everyone with his healing abilities.Then as Erebor starts to rebuild he continues to surprise people with his knowledge and skills. On top of everything else that is occuring there is a dwarf king and a hobbit who might be trying to court one another without the other knowing - while their companions are either helpful or confusingly gleeful. Direct Spoilers for the end of the book though this is an alternate ending.

In which everyone sees the budding romance between Thorin and Bilbo, except, of course, for Thorin and Bilbo themselves. Also, Dis brings the fear of God in other Dwarves and likes to meddle in her big brother's romantic life, and if she has to do this through scathingly written letters, then so be it.

Bilbo liked Erebor, he really did. Even if everyone seemed convinced he was going to leave. In which soil causes international incidents, Thorin is over-dramatic, and dwarves are rubbish at keeping secrets. Oh, and they build a garden. Eventually.

Bilbo Baggins isn't sure about this. Not one bit. Frodo is definitely too young to enter into an arranged marriage with a dwarven king called Thorin Oakenshield. It's a good thing that Bilbo is there to chaperone him through their courtship. After all, there's no chance that a fussy hobbit bachelor would ever catch the eye of a king.

Bilbo Baggins was not a particularly talented Guide. He knew that. His family knew that. Every last Hobbit in the four Farthings and Bree knew that. But that meant nothing when one morning an agony that wasn’t Bilbo’s ripped right through him, dropping him to his knees with a scream. Wrapped up in the pain there was a presence. Someone fierce and determined, nestling himself in the blank space in Bilbo’s mind for the barest of moments before he slipped away. After the fall of Erebor and the tragedy of Azanulbizar, many dwarves have come to hate the line of Durin. After losing his grandfather, father, and siblings, all Thorin has left is his nephews, who are no more than toddlers. When the meddling wizard Gandalf comes to the rescue, he takes Thorin and his boys onto the backs of Eagles to a place far to the west, in a dainty place called the Shire. After the Battle of the Five Armies and return to home, Bilbo feels strangely restless. Well, the way his family tries to marry him off might be contributing to this. The One Ring decides it needs to understand its bearer better in order to properly manipulate him - the hobbit is proving unexpectedly good at resisting its influence. The road to East is long and this was never supposed to happen, but violence was never Bilbo's preference when it came to solving problems - whether he was aware that a problem existed or not. The Wise and the Mighty might say that everything has already been tried against Sauron, but Good Hobbit Sense and actually communicating somehow hadn't made that list.

Yavanna has laid her blessing on Bilbo. He's unexpectedly expecting.

After suffering the loss of his parents young Bilbo is quite unsure what will become of him. Thanks to a letter his mother wrote he comes to be in the care of Lord Fundin who is the Steward of the Blue Mountains. Lord Fundin's sons Balin and Dwalin welcome the lost hobbit as a brother. Through them Bilbo is brought up as a dwarf and learns all about their intricate culture. When a dragon attacks Erebor Bilbo fears for the fate of his brothers and hurries to the Lonely Mountain. He learns that they are well and that the young Prince Thorin managed to rally support and defeat the dragon. Unfortunately while he is there Bilbo catches the eyes of several notable dwarves (much to the worry of his brothers) and yet seems entirely unaware of it (cause for further concern). Bilba Baggins, popular model for a premier lingerie company, isn't always entirely convinced that the perks of the job are worth the hassle. Can't she even go to the shops without being recognized? But Thorin Oakenshield doesn't seem to recognize her at all, even with her nearly-naked breasts forever plastered across half of London. That's... a very refreshing change.

There’s a terrace garden in Erebor that once served foreign dignitaries suffering from too many hours spent indoors. It’s a bit off the beaten path and few dwarves –save the old gardeners responsible for its care- knew of it before Smaug arrived. It’s late winter, well into Solmath by the Shire Reckoning, when Thorin Oakenshield shows his consort out onto the windswept landing. “It needs some work.” Thorin says with one arm around Bilbo’s shoulders. “However, my masons assure me that the terrace is structurally sound and that the garden beds can even be deepened if need be.” “Maybe.” Bilbo says and hunkers down next to the central bed, which is currently home to a dead willow tree and a thick carpet of dried-out weeds that have choked out whatever once grew there. “…but I doubt that will be necessary. This willow had enough room to thrive until the pipes broke and the water stopped. I think we may need to put in some tall hedges as a wind-break.” He turns to the gate that he and Thorin entered through. “Boys, come tell me what you think of this bed as a nursery for your future siblings.” Or: It's inevitable that Thorin would want another one.

As Bilbo sat smoking in his empty hobbit hole, he couldn’t help but wonder – when did his life become so boring? Or better yet – when did his old life stop being enough? He suspected the answer to that question lay somewhere around the time when he had refused Thorin Oakenshield’s offer of marriage.

It is well known that there is nothing so cherished in the dwarven race as their children. However, as in all races there are exceptions.

After hearing the last words of a fatally wounded Thorin Oakenshield, Belladonna Baggins flees Erebor before he's cold in his grave. Before he's even in his grave, really. Which, as it turns out, is a mistake, for he is neither dead nor dying, and does not appreciate having to go all the way back to the Shire to get her back.

"Not so much sent to retrieve as to convince." Bilbo never expected to find the dwarves on his front step again and yet here are three asking him to return to Erebor with them when all that awaits him is pain. He took Thorin's words to heart and he refuses to set foot in the Lonely Mountain again. But what the King wants, he gets. And thats how Bilbo ended up returning to Erebor, for a... short visit that somehow becomes quite long. There might also be some magical intervention in the midst of it all.

The first part of this series deals with the interactions between Thorin and Bilbo when they first meet in the Shire. Thorin, as well as Fíli and Kíli had been forced by their king Thrain son of Thror, to travel to the Shire and serve the hobbits who live there. This way they can prove themselves to the thain of the Shire so that he will permit trade once more, that will safe the dwarrows of the Blue Mountains from dying of starvation. The Durins are desperate, the hobbit is oblivious, yet after a lot of challenges they start developing a sense of familiarity with each other, for some of them even love.

As Consort Under the Mountain, Bilbo quickly realizes that there's a lot more to dwarves than meets the eye. Short drabbles that focus on the lives of the Company after the Battle of the Five Armies and before the War of the Ring. Expect quite a lot of little Frodo, hurt/comfort moments, and Erebor's favorite royals.

After a life dominated by a strange form of sickness, Thorin is sent to the Shire to seek a cure only Bilbo Baggins can offer.

In a Middle-Earth where Erebor never fell, a shadow remains in the heart of the Lonely Mountain. Bilbo Baggins finds himself drawn reluctantly into a quest that will lead him across the continent--from Bree to Lake Evendim to the icy North and beyond--with a party of five dwarves searching for an artifact that will cure the ailing King Thrór.

The curse of Thror took everything from Thorin; his home, his people's love, and finally his family and his sword arm. Then an old wizard in a pub brings him a key and the first good news he has heard in a long time - his nephews are alive and well in the Shire, the most unlikeliest of places. Bilba Baggins had been quite happy living quietly on her own, but Bag End has not been quiet ever since two orphaned dwarves snuck into her life and made themselves at home. However, she will be damned if she lets a one-armed dwarf prince storm in and take them away after all these years. She'll follow her boys to the ends of Middle Earth if she has to. And maybe, if he proves himself, she might even stand beside their king.

In another lifetime, it is the Shire that is attacked and stolen by a dragon for reasons unknown. Years later, Bilbo Baggins embarks on a journey to Erebor in a desperate attempt to find aid in reclaiming his homeland. But once there, he finds that taking on a dragon will be the least of his concerns as he struggles through trials, his own identity, and the King Under the Mountain.

Taking Bilbo Baggins, a successful movie actor who is only just getting used to the perks and intricacies of becoming A Face People Want To See, and putting him together with Thorin Oakenshield, with his very traditional (read: slightly backwards) ideas about what constitutes Real Art and Real Talent, might very well be viewed as just some clothead’s idea of a joke. But there are jokes, and then there are carefully calculated risks the size of controversial reproductions of classic Shakespearean plays - for Bilbo, it is the chance of a lifetime to prove himself to all those who have ever deemed him too one-dimensional to even attempt stage, while Thorin has the opportunity to get out of the rut that’s been hindering his career for so long now, and shine in a role worthy of his talent once again. That is if the two learn how to share the same space for more than ten minutes without wanting to tear each other’s hair out. The course of true love never did run smooth, after all…

When Thorin summons the company to the Lesser Hall and Bilbo explains what she wants done, there is a long silence, followed by thunderous argument. “I suppose we shouldn’t have expected better,” Bilbo mutters as Óin and Dwalin bellow at each other. It’s typical, Thorin thinks, and is disgusted with himself for the rush of fondness he feels.

Erebor can be a lonely place for wolves who belong with bunnies. Lucky for Thorin, Bilbo fits too perfectly.

Bilbo is forced back to The Shire before the Battle of the Five Armies is over. He remembers Thorin dying in his arms but something just feels wrong inside his heart and he longs to see the mountains again. Struggling to find some peace after losing the one he loved. Bilbo resigns himself to a lifetime of loneliness but fate has a very different plan for both of them.

A kink-meme fill with the prompt: So the battle happened and Thorin lived (barely, but he's managed to escape death) his nephews too. The treasure has been divided and Elves and Men went on their way. Dwarves are set on rebuilding Erebor to its former glory and there's just one little thing left unsolved - setting their burglar on the way. I would pretty much like it form the point of view of Dis, who just arrived to Erebor to take care of her boys (brother included) and sees what a mess Thorin's made of everything. The fill kind of went sideways from the original prompt. Hope you all enjoy!

Only this time, she intends to get a headstart.After waking up in Bag End, Bella conjures a plan to help Dwarf and Hobbit alike and if it means she gets to see her old friends a little earlier than last time, well, where's the harm?

Bilbo Baggins has been a hobbit for many long years and he should very much like to keep it that way, thank you very much. An old friend drops by Bag End with the offer of an adventure and despite Bilbo's refusal, the idea of only thirteen dwarves and a wizard facing a dragon may just convince him yet. After all, he has experience with the Great Dragons of the North. Once upon a time, he was one.
