In which Cloud gets a Virtual Reality Dream Console – ShinRa's latest in virtual reality technology. Aaand everything pretty much goes downhill from there.

Sephiroth finally manages to kill everyone during one of his many returns from the dead. He is a badass, nearly all powerful god of destruction and completely bored out of his oh so perfect, superior mind now that he’s gotten his way. He starts missing his fights with his only rival and the entertainment they provided but cannot pull the other away from a protective lifestream for long or return him to life. So he decides with nothing better to do and ridiculous amounts of power, he’ll just return them to a point in time when they both were alive and Sephiroth had easy access to manipulate his favorite puppet. Cloud is not happy to find himself a trainee/infantryman again and the other Firsts and upper management cannot for the life of them figure out why the “Great Sephiroth” is stalking the blond and acting like a bratty, bullying seven year old with his first crush.

Cloud has an accident with a Time materia, and finds himself in the middle of the Wastes at the start of the Wutai War. There are people to save... and for that, there are three people who need to die.

Cloud stopped planning a life in ShinRa and ShinRa definitely made no plans for him.

Cloud has finally made it into SOLDIER with the help if his best friend Zack. It's not common knowledge, but it is known that mako has a feral effect on the body. Cloud was ready for those changes, but he never could have guessed how differently his body would react. A break from the Infantry ends up with young Cloud returning home, meeting one Vincent Valentine, and turning what might've became a love for swords to obsession over guns.

Shortly after the SOLDIER program was developed, scientists noticed a biological shift within those that had received the mako treatment. With changes in behaviour, and in some cases, altered reproductive systems, three types of SOLDIERS could be distinguished; Alphas, Betas and Omegas. Cloud Strife is an Omega, which is the rarest of the three. Already struggling to adjust to his newfound reflexes, he has to deal with the other, unpleasant side effects of being an Omega. When Cloud’s first heat takes hold, the Alphas closest to him turn into a pack of testosterone-charged, snarling wolves. Lazard, the bastard, forced this job onto innocent, wide-eyed Cloud while on the train to Midgard. All the boy ever wanted was to go to Midgar and join SOLDIER, hopefully meet Sephiroth and the other SOLDIER First Class, and live life happily as a SOLDIER and send money back to his mother. Instead, he got a job pushed onto him, and now he has to deal with a LOT more than what he expected. He was trying to join SOLDIER as an actual SOLDIER, goddammit, not as the Director of SOLDIER. Cloud didn't know whether he should feel appalled, amused, or delighted. At least he still got to meet Sephiroth.

The sickness had already wasted Cloud’s mother away to nearly nothing, and Cloud knew the illness had already settled in his own lungs.
