Explorations of the Chambers turns up more rooms and information than he expected. One of which is a ritual that is called 'Slytherin Binding Ritual'. Thinking it meant binding Salazar Slytherin's ghost to him and thinking 'meh, not like I'm gonna lose anything', Harry performs the ritual without even thinking of researching more about it. He forgot one of the most important thing in the world. He's Fate's personal chew toy.

Tom won. He got everything he wanted; immortality, the ministry, even Harry Potter. And yet though he knew he owned the young wizards body, Harry's heart still remained free from his greedy grasp. Excerpt Harry was throughly distracted but not enough to not notice the lingering shadow at his bedroom door. He looked up to see a flash of red eyes. Harry opened his mouth to call Tom into the bedroom and join thier family but something stopped him. Harry still wasn't over the trauma Tom had put him and his son through. So he quickly looked away and let himself be distracted by his family. Tom eyes narrowed in anger, but he dared not cross over the threshold into a place he had not been invited to. The room was alight with Harry’s laughter, thier children shouting back and forth and the beacon in the middle was the newborn. The large family was bound together by Harry’s indomitable love. His eyes shone with so much happiness as Harry forced himself to ignore the looming threat just a few feet away from his family. And Tom did not belong in that circle of love and warmth. So he stayed in the shadows and watched with envy, wanting something he could never bring himself to ask for. Something he did not deserve.

Dumbledore was a manipulative bastard and Harry wasn't going to play by his games any longer. Harry leaves Magical Britain behind for a better future, and ends up coming back years later, when he is successful and no on knows his new name. In attempting to stop Sirius from falling through the Veil in the Department of Mysteries, Harry goes half through it himself before being dragged back into the living world. After the battle, things should have gone back to normal...but they don't. Something about Harry is changing, and he doesn't know why, what to do about it, or just what it means for his future confrontations with Voldemort.

He thought he was moving on at the end of his life, the war was over, he had lived long enough, but being cursed by fate and the past machinations of a man he trusted most has left him stuck until beyond worlds end. Having nothing left Death takes on the task of unraveling time to send him back and fix the mistakes that have been wrought and save not only himself, but his nemesis, and even Death in the process.
