In fact, her knowledge of Dragon Age is based entirely on fanfiction. In the wake of her brother, Spencer's, disappearance, Belle dropped into Thedas with luggage, but without a clue. After a brief but memorable panic attack, she resolved to be the best goddamn lawyer Thedas had ever seen. Even if she was the only goddamn lawyer Thedas had ever seen.
