Bulma is abducted and forced to reproduce Capsule Tech. Vegeta is the last of his race struggling to endure a life of subjugation under his tormentor. There are rebel forces, intergalactic space battles and the retelling of one of anime and manga's favourite love stories. We are defined by the choices we make. That sentiment, though not original, provides both the title and premise for this alternate universe work about one of the most intriguing pairings in, well, the universe.

Earth is destroyed and Bulma is sold as a slave and is trying to find a way out of her current predicament in hopes of finding her father who was taken by the Icejin. Vegeta meets her one evening and is intrigued by both her technological genius and beauty and acquires her for himself to help their cause against the Icejin under the pretence of her being just his slave. However, his father immediately suspects that she is much more to his son than just that. A plot to separate them is soon in full effect. He's the prince of a powerful race expected to take an "appropriate" Saiyan mate; she's a seemingly weak slave in everyone else's eyes. They aren't supposed to be together but can they find a way to make it work despite the universe seemingly working against them? Read and find out. Lots of drama, twists and turns to follow!
