Once again, I find myself facing another artistic roadblock: the biased standards of beauty found in the models. My attempts to create an image of a person radiating inner beauty regardless of outside appearances are stymied by convention. How can I communicate that there is beauty in the aged, there is glamour in the obese, there is an allure to be found in the unusual, cuteness in the odd, and splendor in the unique? There is an inherent sexuality to be found in the geeks, freaks, nerds, punks, and other so-called outsiders. We value individuality, yet we avoid it and say it is aesthetically pleasing. Weirdos! Rise up and overthrow the shackles of pre-packaged standards of attractiveness!
